On September 11th, 2001, Firefighter Michael J. Otten gave his life saving others in Tower Two of the World Trade Center. He was a loving husband and father who left behind his wife and three young boys. He will always be missed, and never forgotten.

The Michael J. Otten Memorial Scholarship Fund and Charity was established to give back to the community who supported his family during this tragedy. This was done in the memory of Michael, whose heroism on September 11, 2001 is an inspiration to us all.

The Golf Outing event has raised money for annual college scholarships for graduating seniors in the Deer Park and East Islip High Schools (where Michael graduated and where his children attend). The contributions have also allowed the fund to give to other charities dedicated to aiding in the growth and development of children and community enrichment programs in Michael's name.

All donations are tax deductible as the charity is a 501(C)3 registered entity.
